December 31, 2020 – Dimiao, Bohol. It’s that time of the year once again when public servants paint the town with their “red-blue-white-and-sun-speckled hearts” on their Filipiniana-inspired sleeves, spewing patriotic odes to the tune of Freddie Aguilar’s “Bayan Ko”.
In a modest but meaningful memorial, Municipal Mayor Randolph L. Ang led the wreath-laying rite for our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. Municipal Vice-Mayor Gilberto C. Lagua, elected officials, government employees, and heads of partner agencies, like the local PNP, BFP, PCG and DepEd, joined hands with Ang in this nationalistic commemoration, keeping in mind COVID-19 protocols the whole time.
With Rizal’s photo projected on the background, Ang and Lagua gave fiery words to rekindle the loyalty and devotion of everyone in attendance towards serving and loving the town, the nation.
Municipal Assessor Katherine M. Berondo hosted the event, while Ms. Maria Elena M. Paigalan led a host of Job Orders in the venue preparations and floral arrangements.
Post-event, Ang and Lagua, along with members of the Sangguniang Bayan-Dimiao, made a couple of Duterte poses in a photo op moment.
