The Memorandum of Agreement for the turn-over of the Proposed Redevelopment of Dimiao Public Market; and Paddy Rice Moisture Meter and Monitoring System, has been officially signed yesterday, April 22, 2024 at Dimiao Municipal Hall, Dimiao, Bohol, between Bohol Island State University and the Local Government Unit of Dimiao.
The event was graced with the presence of notary personnel of BISU MC: University Extension Director, Dr. Lloyd L. Tejano; Campus Extension Director, Ms. Mearie Jean A. Faustino; CEAID Extension Chairperson, Dr. Deanne Cameren P. Evangelista; University Extension Assistant, Ms. Dera Joyze B. Soliva; Campus Extension Assistant, Ms. Kayra Mae Raut; and CEAID Dean, Engr. Julius C. Castro.
The turn-over ceremony was also witnessed by members of the CEAID faculty, trainers, and facilitators. Selected students from the BSArch program alongside the officials of LGU Dimiao, also came to be a part of the honorable event.
To mark the collaborative efforts between both parties, Dr. Lloyd L. Tejano, representing BISU University President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, and Dimiao Municipal Mayor, Hon. Randolph A. Ang, successfully seals off the aforementioned agreement between BISU and LGU Dimiao.
The proposed plan was developed and designed by five notable alumni under the Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BSArch) program, namely: Ms. Jocyl L. Velasco, Ms. Vanessa Anne Louise Diangco, Ms. Claire Marie Ann Cubarol, Ms. Ram Rose Cabiltes, and Ms. Angelica Ucat. Proving the materialization of their hard work and dedication are of efficiency towards the development of Dimiao.
As the University representative, Dr. Tenajo led the handing of blueprints and documents were then to Hon. Ang. Concurrently, a virtual representation video of the redevelopment plan as well as the Paddy Rice Moisture Meter and Monitoring System— an item that seeks to aid and improve the agriculture of the said town— was then played in the background.
“BISU has put into paper what Dimiao has dreamed for a long time,” stated Municipal Engineer, Engr. Joel B. Dahiroc in his closing remarks.
He acknowledged that making such a plan was difficult, but because of the efforts of the mentioned architecture students and BISU, their long-time dream has finally been materialized to which he was very gratified of.
In addition, Engr. Dahiroc also mentioned that it won’t be the end of the partnership between BISU and Dimiao, but it opens new avenues for more collaborative projects between the said parties, and that Dimiao welcomes new opportunities given in the future.
