In the life, there are many firsts: the first crush, the first love, the first lip-quenching kiss, the first bone-breaking hug . . . , and in some rare cases (for widows and widowers exactly), the first husband and/or wife.
In this section, we hereby present the few firsts in Dimiao’s historical timeline.
- Atty. ISIDORO ACURAM
“Doloy”, the son of Simeon Acuram and Antonia Lagare, is the first lawyer produced in Dimiao. He served the government as Municipal Judge during his fruitful years. After his retirement, his years were still fruitful that he rendered his services to the government as Town Mayor for one term.
- SEBASTIANA DAJAO ADESER
Mrs. Sebastiana Adeser formerly Sebastiana Dajao is the nurse produced in Dimiao. She is the daughter of Nieves Madrio and Luciano Dajao. “Inse Bating”, as she was fondly called served as teacher-nurse in the Bureau of Public Schools and Later became the Division Health Supervisor in the Division of Bohol until she retired from service.
- CESARIO A. BALINTAG
He is the first and only Division Superintendent Dimiao has ever produced. His parent’s are Fudong and Paula Balintag.
- EDUARDO DAJAO
“Eddie” topped (first place) in the National Board Examinations for Mechanical Engineering in 1974. He graduated from the University of Bohol. His parents are Marcela Sale and Porferio Dajao.
- ROGACIANO DAJAO, SR.
He is the first CPA (Certified Public Accountant) of Dimiao. He graduated from the Jose Rizal College of Manila. His parents are Antonio Dajao and Susan Magdales.
- NATALIO DAJAO
He is the first pharmacist of Dimiao. Natalio is the brother of Sebastian Adeser.
- LUCIANO GALIMPIN
Luciano Galimpin, the son of Dionisio Galimpin and Julia Obut, graduated in 1910 from the Harvard University of U.S.A as the first Mechanical Engineer of Dimiao.
- JOSELITO GALLUR
“Jolie”, the son of Jesus Gallur and Lucena Rivera, won the Vocal Solo Contest during the National BSP(Boy Scouts of the Philippines) Talents Quest held in Makati, Metro Manila on December 1, 1973. Jolie was eleven years old at that time.
- DR. FELY LAGUNOY
Fely is the first graduate in Doctorate of Philosophy in Education in Dimiao. She finished her doctorate degree from the University of Bohol. Her parents are Sergia Abuya and the late Gregorio Lagonoy.
- MIGUEL LAGUITAO
Miguel was the first Municipal Mayor during the Commonwealth Government.
- PEDRO LUMAIN
Pedro Lumain was the first supervising teacher in Dimiao and Lila District in 1917-1922 with a salary of Php40.00 a month. He was the nephew of the late Don Claudio Ramirez, the first town executive.
- RAMON MAGADAN
Ramon had been the National Champion in the “HAMON NG KAMPEON’ contest for six consecutive months in the year 1965. It is a national contest of playing different kinds of musical instrument. He played the accordion. He is the son of Eufrasia Maguyon and Honorato Magadan Sr., Ramon is the grandson of Maestro Anoy, Dimiao’s great Musician.
- REV. FR. TIRSO MAGLENTE
Fr. Tirso Maglente, “Pedro Eboy”, is the first priest produced from the Town of Dimiao. He was ordained as priest on April 2, 1960. Fr. Tirso is the son of Eleuteria Balatero and Flaviano Maglente Sr.
- JOSEFA QUEZON
Miss Josefa Quezon was the first Dimiaonon to become a teacher. She later got married to Mr. Mervacio Madrio. She taught as early as 1905.
- DON CLAUDIO RAMIREZ
Don Claudio Ramirez was the first Municipal President during the Spanish Regime.
- DR. MARCELO RAMIREZ
Dr. Marcelo Ramirez is the first Doctor of Medicine produced in Dimiao. He is the son of Dofia Tomasa Sale and Don Claudio Ramirez
- Atty. SYLVIA V. ADAME
Atty. Sylvia V. Adame is the daughter of Atty. Miguel Varquez and public teacher Eldeponsa Varquez. Atty. Sylvia V. Adame became the first Lady Mayor of the Municipality and also the first Municipal Mayor who was elected for three consecutive and successive terms. She is also the first Lady-President of the League of Municipalities (LMP, League of Mayors)-Bohol Provincial Chapter.
- SIXTO SALE
“Iyo Iter” was the first Dimiaonon to become a principal in the public schools.
