The Local Government Unit of Dimiao celebrated the Solo Parents Day 2024 event, marking a significant moment in the community’s efforts to support solo parents. The highlight of the occasion was the establishment of the town’s inaugural Solo Parents Organization, with Ma’am Nida Salipong Yecyec appointed as its first president.
Attended by nearly 50 registered solo parents, the event received honorable guests including Mayor Randolph L., Chief of Police Lieutenant Alec Joseph Judilla, MSWDO John Erikk L. Anlagan, and Social Welfare Officer III Darlene Magtajas. PSSG Lica U. Caingles, a member of the police force and a nurse, delivered a heartfelt speech sharing her experiences as a solo parent, emphasizing both challenges and victories.
Mayor Randolph L. commended the resilience and determination exhibited by solo parents in nurturing their families, while Chief of Police Lieutenant Alec Joseph Judilla expressed solidarity and pledged support from the police force in bolstering family structures within the community.
The newly formed Solo Parents Organization vows to collaborate closely with the MSWD office to generate positive impacts and support mechanisms for solo parents in Dimiao.
